The left jeep is Dr. Rehman Baig's M38, built by Daud. The middle one is Salman's M170, and the CJ7 on the right belongs to Dr. Mansur. All three of these jeeps see a lot of action and manage to come through with flying colors despite the best efforts of their owners.

Everyone was stumped by this sign. After much thought we came up with 3-4 different theories as to what it really means, but to this day no one is sure.

This area looks like something out of Lawrence of Arabia. We might have been on 4x4's, but the locals still use camels. The picture on the rail track was taken at 'Karodak' where the road is crossed by the rail track, the picture was taken looking towards Quetta.

If you look at the road going West from Quetta to Nushki, Dalbandin and on to Iran,this picture was taken just South of "Yadgar Chauki" where the road takes an "s" bend, the range is not Chaghai Hills but the "Ras Koh" Mountains, so the cameramans back is towards North and picture taken facing South, and quite rightly the Salt Marsh (Hamun-e-lora) is behind the photographer.

The tombs at Galuga are unique as these are 'double storyed' the upper chamber contains one single grave, probably of the man of the house and the lower chamber contained several bodies of women and children, laid to rest side by side over a period of time, related to the man. Such tombs are rare, normally there is one single grave in a tomb like at the necropolis at Makli, Thatta in lower Sindh.

This is one of the bigger petrol stations near the Iran-Pakistan border. All the fuel is brought accross the border in the best interpretation of free trade. Free trade fuel is around 1/10 the cost of non free trade fuel, so it is very popular here.

A conference on the way, in the middle of the salt plain. Some jeeps had started wandering out of sight, and so the drivers are being instructed to stay within sight. Three people died 3 months ago after losing their way in this same area.
